"The Marvels" is an upcoming superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to the 2019 film "Captain Marvel" and the 29th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The film will feature Brie Larson reprising her role as Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, a former U.S. Air Force pilot who gains superhuman abilities after being exposed to alien technology. Kamala Khan is a Pakistani-American teenager who gains shape-shifting powers and becomes the hero of Ms. Marvel, while Monica Rambeau is a former S.W.O.R.D. agent who was first introduced in the Disney+ series "WandaVision". Both characters are expected to play a significant role in the MCU going forward.

"The Marvels" is directed by Nia DaCosta, making her the first Black woman to direct a Marvel Studios film. The filmmakers have promised that the film will explore themes of family, identity, and the power of women, while also delivering the epic superhero action that fans have come to expect from the MCU.

The plot of the film is being kept under wraps, but it is expected to pick up after the events of "Captain Marvel" and explore the wider implications of Carol Danvers' powers and the arrival of other superpowered beings in the MCU.

"The Marvels" is currently scheduled to be released on November 11, 2022. With its diverse cast, groundbreaking director, and thrilling superhero action, the film is poised to be another hit for Marvel Studios and a major event in the MCU.
